About the Work

From that surface, wildflowers grow. Of different varieties, size, colour and origins, they climb together. Overcoming the everything that has tried to hold them back - the systems, the structures, the expectations. As a community they move forward with their heads up, toward a world where equality is not an aspiration but a way of life.

Against The Wall are two paintings inspired by a collaboration with a community initiative on the Noordereiland in Rotterdam dedicated to taking control of waste and how we relate to it. The coffee filters collected through that process, a simple, everyday object that brings people together, are embedded into the surface of these works. They are there as a reminder that community is built around shared values, action, and sometimes something as simple as a cup of coffee.
A New Day For Weeds is a one-of-a-kind original. It will not be reproduced as an original.
It is hand-signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
This work is executed on premium linen with professional deep aluminium stretcher support and reinforced cross-bracing. The surface is prepared with multiple acrylic gesso layers and an isolation coat.
The finished work is sealed with a protective archival varnish. Every material decision was made with the same intention as the work itself
Given the scale and mixed media nature of this work, shipping is arranged individually and quoted separately based on destination. Each arrangement is handled with the care this scale of work requires.
