When It Pours explores the idea that hardship and growth exist together. Rain can feel heavy and destructive, but it is also necessary for life. Without rain, nothing grows. After the storm comes the rainbow, and after the rain comes the sun. This painting reflects that cycle, the balance between struggle and renewal.
The work speaks to resilience. It shows that even after difficult times, there is always the possibility of light, growth, and bloom. The sun will shine again. Flowers will bloom again.

This painting is inspired by Jamaica, home, and the impact of Hurricane Melissa. It reflects both the physical storms faced by the land and the emotional storms faced by the people. Jamaica’s strength and resilience are at the heart of this piece.
On a personal level, When It Pours also speaks to inner battles. What we see blooming on the outside does not always reflect the storms someone is facing within. It takes courage to keep going when life feels uncertain and heavy. Choosing to continue, to be brave, and to believe in brighter days is an act of strength.
This work is dedicated to surrendering to life’s cycles, the yin and yang so to speak. Without these extremes, there is no balance. Growth comes from endurance, and bloom is constant if we choose to keep moving forward

This is an original digital fine art creation, developed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag archival paper. This choice ensures exceptional quality and longevity for each artwork, with the paper itself offering a life expectancyof several hundred years.
The distinction between a standard print and a fine art print, particularly in my work, lies in the treatment of the digital medium. I approach the digital canvas with the same dedication as a traditional one, employing various brush strokes, tools, and techniques to enhance depth and fully explore the creative possibilities of digital art. As an acrylic artist, I incorporate acrylic elements into my digital creations and often finish them with oils, spray paint, markers, and specialized brushes. This process adds depth, dimension, and layering, bringing each piece to life.

WHEN IT POURS, THINGS FEEL HEAVY.
RAIN CAN DESTROY,
AND GIVE LIFE.
WITHOUT IT, NOTHING GROWS,
WITHOUT STORMS, THERE IS NO RENEWAL.
AND SO,
WE CONTINUE.
CHOOSING TO TRUST THE CYCLE.
TO BELIEVE THE SUN WILL RETURN.
AND WHEN IT DOES
WE BLOOM.
